Homework - 11th December

Year 6 Teachers - 10 Dec 2020

English and Maths

This week's Homework

On google, under the 'Homework' topic tab, you have been sent a 'Maths' Facts I should Know' sheet.  Your task, between now and January, when we return to school, is to learn these facts off by heart.  You will be tested on them in the first week back.

IN ADDITION, you have been given a '12 Days of Christmas SATs revision' pack.  This includes arithmetic, reasoning and grammar practice.  Don't panic!  This is not due in until after Christmas so you will have 4 weeks to complete it.

THIS PACK WILL NEED TO BE BROUGHT BACK INTO SCHOOL ON THE FIRST FRIDAY (8TH JANUARY).  We will put them into a box and isolate them for 5 days before we go through it with you.

DO NOT TAKE PICTURES OF THIS OR PUT ANYTHING ON SEESAW - it will get clogged up!

Ongoing Homework

Please complete at LEAST x3 sessions of RM Easi during the week and get on to TTRS regularly for times tables and maths reasoning practise. The more you complete both of these, the more progress you will make with your maths in Year 6!

Children will be given (usually) x20 spellings to learn per week, with different spelling rules to adhere to.
PLEASE ALSO complete the weekly spellings google doc provided. Children must look up the definitions of each of their spelling words and put each of the words into sentences. Please also click 'Hand in' on the assignment in Google Classroom when they're done.

'Gimme Three' - children are asked to record at least x3 words from their weekly reading that are new to them and look up their definitions. they can upload these to the 'Gimme Three'folder on Seesaw.

**For children who are lucky enough to have access to 'Lexia', a session should be completed at home MINIMUM x3 per week for it to have maximum impact and for children to make as much progress with their reading and english as possible. **

Note: If you are asked for a teacher's email at the start of your session, please use 'lexiaschool1@gmail.com'.
