UNICEF (Governors)

Mrs Carroll - 08 Dec 2015

There are lots of ways that our school can get involved with Unicef and help protect the rights of children everywhere.

In the near future we hope to take part in Day for Change, hold fundraising events the A-Team are considering making UNICEF our charity of the year.

A a school we are woring towards The Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA). This award recognises achievement in putting the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) at the heart of Ardleigh Green Junior School’s planning, policies, practice and ethos.

We have recently received The Recognition of Commitment (ROC).
This is the first stage of the Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA). It introduces Ardeigh Green Junior School to the four standards of the award and is very important because it ensures that:

  • our school’s senior leadership team (SLT) understand what is involved and is committed to embarking on the Unicef UK rights-respecting journey
  • the right foundations are in place for your journey to Level 1.

The Recognition of Commitment (ROC) is granted by Unicef UK. This stage of the Award is about showing that we have a plan in place to become rights-respecting and that children and adults in our school are working together to achieve the Award.
