Havering Football Finals

26 Apr 2016

Havering Football Final

After a very competitive season, Ardleigh Green reached the final of the Havering Football Competition held at Wykeham Primary School on Thursday 21st April.

Ardleigh Green were runners up in the Central League, winning  matches against, Hylands, Suttons, Gidea Park and  Squirrels Heath; losing only one match to Rise Park.

Ardleigh Green beat Engayne 3 v 1 in the Quarter Final and reached the Final of the competition after a 2 v 1 win against Wykeham Primary School. (There is a short video of the quarter final on our school home page)

The final proved to be an exciting match, with some excellent football played by both teams. The score was  nil nil at half time, but with two well taken goals, Rise Park were crowned Havering Champions.

Congratulations Ardleigh Green for an excellent season. You have played some excellent football; your sportsmanship has been exemplary and Mr Hayden and Mr Morris have really enjoyed working with you.

PS The competition in its current form, has been running for the past five years. This is the first time that Ardleigh Green have reached the final. Well done everyone.
